All along the river

I usually exercise a fair amount. By profession I am a Pilates/Yoga teacher specializing in postural alignment and injury rehabilitation, I’m a health coach and a certified personal trainer. I like studios, I like gyms, I like the outdoors too. I’m also a gardener who spent hours shaping multiple gardens over the years. But one of my favorite forms of exercise is walking. I love seeing everything. And it is one of my favorite ways to explore new surroundings.

The part of Singapore where we are staying, around Clarke Quay, is very pedestrian friendly and extremely stimulating for a walker. There are so many amazing things to take in, day or night.

Today we took the walk that Ted has been taking for his exercise, it’s a loop around part of the river and bay that’s a little over 4 miles. Today we saw a Dragon Boat Regatta and The Great Eastern Women’s Run. It seems that there is always something going on along the river.

We walked around the bay a bit and saw the Merlion, the Artscience Museum and the stadium. We crossed the helix bridge and walked our way back, enjoying the sights.

Dragon Boat Regatta. Huge deal apparently with a large part of the river and the river walk dedicated to the weekend long event.

Not the best shot unfortunately, but here the boats are lining up for the start of the race. I have some amazing video of the race, but can’t upload it here. I’ll try posting it to Facebook.
